Introduction

SUP-LDG electro magnetic water flow meter is applicable for all conductive liquids. Typical applications are monitoring accurate measurements in liquid, metering and custody transfer. It can display both instantaneous and cumulative flow, and supports analog output, communication output and relay control functions.

The role of the measurement conduit is to allow the measured conductive liquid to pass. In order to make the magnetic line of force through the measurement conduit when the magnetic flux is shunted or short-circuited, the measurement conduit must be made of non-conductive, low conductivity, low thermal conductivity and a certain mechanical strength of the material, can be used non-conductive stainless steel, glass fiber reinforced plastic, high strength plastic, aluminum, etc.

The role of the electrode is to induce and be measured proportional to the induced potential signal. The electrode is generally made of non-permeable stainless steel, and is required to be flush with the lining so that the fluid is not obstructed when passing. Its installation position should be in the vertical direction of the pipe to prevent the accumulation of precipitates on it and affect the measurement accuracy.

The housing of the magnetic water flow meter is made of ferromagnetic material and is the outer cover of the excitation coil of the distribution system and isolates the interference of the external magnetic field.

Measuring principle

The magnetic water flow meter works based on Faraday's law, and measure conductive medium with conductivity more than 5 μs/cm and flow range from 0.2 to 15 m/s. An Electromagnetic Flowmeter is a volumetric Flowmeter that measures the flow velocity of a liquid through a pipe. 

The measurement principle of magnetic flow meters can be described as follows: when the liquid goes through the pipe at the flow rate of v with a diameter D, within which a magnetic flux density of B is created by an exciting coil, the following electromotive E is generated in proportion to flow speed v:
